This policy explains what personal data Club na Fealsúnachta ("we", "us") collects through clubnafealsunachta.com, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

Who we are

Club na Fealsúnachta is run by Francis Quinn, based in Trieste, Italy. For any question about this policy or your data, contact info@clubnafealsunachta.com.

What we collect

  • Member account: if you join the club through the site, we store your username, email address, and a hashed (never plain-text) password.
  • Contact form: if you message us, your name, email, and message are sent to our inbox by email. We do not store this in a database.
  • Newsletter: if you subscribe, your email address is sent to our mailing list provider, Mailchimp, who handles delivery and unsubscribes.
  • Login session: when you log in, a strictly necessary session cookie is set in your browser so you stay signed in. It is not used for tracking or advertising.

Why we collect it

We use this data only to run the club: to create and secure your member account, to reply to messages sent through the contact form, and to send the newsletter to people who asked for it. We do not sell or share your data for advertising purposes.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of external services to run the site, each of which processes data on our behalf:

  • Supabase — hosts our database, including member accounts (data region: West EU (Ireland)).
  • Mailchimp (United States) — manages newsletter delivery and subscriptions.
  • Google / Gmail (United States) — relays contact form messages to our inbox.
  • Netlify (United States) — hosts the site and processes server logs, which include IP addresses, for every request.

How long we keep it

Member accounts are kept until you ask us to delete them. If you start creating an account but never confirm your email address, that unconfirmed signup is automatically deleted after about 30 days. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact form and topic suggestion messages aren't stored in a database, but the email itself remains in our inbox until we delete it.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to withdraw consent (e.g. unsubscribe from the newsletter) at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email info@clubnafealsunachta.com and we'll handle your request directly — this isn't yet a self-service feature on the site.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Cookies

We use one strictly necessary cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use analytics or advertising cookies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. The "last updated" date above will always reflect the latest version.
